Business Traveller Accommodation Bookings

AS COVID -19 SORT OF ENDS, THE REAL CHALLENGE LIES AHEAD

We are all relieved and grateful that we can open our doors for accommodation and limited related services.

We have been particularly pro-active in following the required protocols and precautions in order to ensure that all our staff and customers are as safe as possible from this disease. Our customers can rest assured that we are doing our best to protect them.

Please phone or e-mail us, our reduced staff is ready to assist and advise where necessary. We ask for your patience and understanding if our service levels occasionally fall short of what you have been used to expect in the past. Our service may be impacted by the occasional need to isolate customers or by the necessity of social distancing. Furthermore, suppliers might suffer with deliveries being out of stock or suffering with their own COVID-19 and staff issues.

We request that you bear with us during these testing times. We will be reopening on Monday 8 June 2020 for accommodation and administration staff to prepare for the near future and take bookings for the coming months provided that we adhere to regulations as they may change and be amended. Of course, this will be done on a provisional basis and the mutual understanding that we live in an ever-changing situation.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss any of your requirements, needs or questions

The safety of our guests and staff is of paramount importance, we continuously encourage social distancing and good hygiene practice while taking guidance from the NICD.

To protect our guests and staff and to prevent a potentially high risk person from checking into the hotel, guests are required to be screened on arrival using a  thermal scanner. If a guest’s temperature falls within the normal range and they do not show any COVID-19 symptoms they will be required to sanitise their hands and proceed to check-in.

If a guest’s temperature is high (the actual temperature at screening should not exceed 37.5 degrees Celsius) and/or they have symptoms of the virus they will be not be allowed to check-in and will be referred to a medical facility as specified by the NICD.

Our staff is scanned and screened every day at the start of their shift.

The Zagora kitchens have always made use of sanitisers and disinfectants that are effective and increased frequency of sanitising has been implemented.

As required of every reputable hotel, we have conducted quarterly kitchen hygiene audits for many years that evaluate the cleaning and hygiene standards and confirms that we adhere to the Department of Health’s requirements and International benchmarks for Food Safety.

All food products are sourced from accredited and reputable suppliers to ensure food safety is maintained at the highest levels.

Yes, we are. The kitchens of the Zagora Grill Room that also serves our conference and hotel guests have always made use of sanitisers and disinfectants that are effective and increased frequency of sanitising has been implemented.

Before we can operate as a facility, we are required by law to sanitize the hotel and public areas, as well as the staff and preparation areas. Furthermore, our housekeeping departments use chemicals that contain SABS approved disinfectants.

Additional frequencies of sanitising of high traffic and high touch point areas have been implemented.

The hotel has a detailed list of “touchpoints” that are touched frequently by guests and employees. A daily schedule to frequently clean and sanitise these areas has been drawn up and implemented.

We maintain professional hygiene standards and provide continuous training for housekeeping staff to ensure that the hotel maintains a high standard of cleanliness.

Our Covid-19 Compliance Officer is tasked to review touching hotspots and the sanitation thereof on a regular basis.

If a guest’s temperature is high (the actual temperature at screening should not exceed 37.5 degrees Celsius) and/or they have symptoms of the virus they will be not be allowed to check-in and will be referred to a medical facility.
