We would like to invite you to join us for a little friendly, camera club style, “Take your best Shot” shooting day!
Join us on the day as a Photographer+Model team with a buy-in of R200 (100% for the prize pot) – The winning team can split the pot as they see fit!
Each team can shoot to their heart’s content in the various venues and at the end of the day, you choose your best shot (only 1 shot!), all the teams vote over beers in the bar, and the winning team takes the pot!
We have two rooms available to work in (so two bedrooms/two bathrooms), as well as various public spaces around the hotel (which includes the wine cellar venue, cigar lounge and our royal lounge. There is also a covered walkway and a small open-air fitness area… too many areas to cover in one day!
Practically we will have to allocate slots for time to shoot in the rooms, and we cannot inconvenience other guests of the hotel (otherwise we will never be able to use the venue again!)
As it stands, we can unfortunately only accommodate 10 teams.
8am – 9am: Meet up and have a Coffee or Breakfast
9am: Admin and practical arrangements (what is where, etc)
9:30-4pm: Shoot to your hearts content
4pm: Meet up in the Sports-bar, Pashash, for beers, Voting and “Prize” giving
All rooms are still cleaned and sanitised according to the requirements set forth by the government as well as suggested measures by TTA, TBCSA & FEDHASA
Only guests of the Royal Elephant Hotel and Conferencing & Function guests may use the Hotel and Grounds for Photoshoots.
Because of this, a photographer will need to book a room for Day-Use should they want to shoot at the Royal Elephant. If no rooms are available, we are too busy to be able to accommodate you for a photo shoot.
Even if you do not intend to use a room to shoot in, we still require the room booking and you can use the room as a location to prep in (styling, Hair and Make-up) as well as a storage area for wardrobe and equipment not used for a specific part of your shoot (it helps to keep clutter in public areas to a minimum and also reduces the chance of theft or other losses.
a Day-Use room allows…
You may also shoot in hotel public spaces, as long as they are not occupied by other guests, or interfering with the safety and/or tranquillity of other guests and patrons. Please ask the Media Manager if you are unsure!
